Robert D. Stillman is currently the Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee of Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF). In the past, he has also served as SEAF’s Board Chairman. Mr. Stillman has also managed investment funds in China, India, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Georgia, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Peru, Colombia, and Central Asia, on behalf of private investors and government development agencies. In addition, he has also been the Director of SEAF’s Sichuan Small Investment Fund in Chengdu, China.
Mr. Stillman is the President of Milbridge Capital Management, LLC, a position he has held since May 1, 1998. Milbridge provides advisory services to foreign governments, equity investors and lenders in global emerging markets. Mr. Stillman has had extensive experience in small business investing. He has served as the Vice President for Investment Funds, Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Washington, DC, as Associate Administrator for Investment with the U.S. Small Business Administration, and Executive Vice President, Treasurer, and a Director of AEA Investors Inc.
Mr. Stillman is the former Chairman of The Global Fund for Children, a Director of the National Alliance to End Homelessness, and a member of the Advisory Boards of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association, Water Resources Group, and Jubilee Jobs, Inc. He received a B.E. degree in Chemical Engineering from Yale University in 1950, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1952. He is a member of the honorary societies Tau Beta Pi and Sigma Xi. Stillman is a native of Oak Park, Illinois.
