Mohammad Altaf Uz Zaman
Mohammad Altaf Uz Zaman is one of the two Managing Directors of SEAF Bangladesh Ventures LLC, which was launched in Bangladesh in 2010. He joined SEAF as Chief Investment Officer at inception in 2010. Prior to joining SEAF he was the Chief Investment Officer of Venture Investment Partners Bangladesh Ltd. (VIPB), a private social venture capital investment company in Bangladesh that focuses on local small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He is also the founder director of VIPB Asset Management Company, a private asset management company currently managing two publicly traded mutual funds with a total market capitalization of approximately USD 24 million.
Mr. Zaman has over 15 years of experience in SME financing through alternative financing structures. He started his career in 1999 with Grameen Fund, a social venture capital fund established in 1994 by the founder of Grameen Bank and Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Mr. Zaman holds an MBA in finance from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has a B.Sc. in Chemistry with honors from the Aligarh Muslim University, India.
Mr. Zaman was born in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. He is married with one son.
