Jennifer Buckley, Senior Managing Director (Singapore)
Ms. Buckley is a Senior Managing Director at SEAF, having recently joined after 20 years in private equity leadership roles focused on growing mid-sized businesses across Europe and Asia. She is co-leading SEAF’s Women Opportunity Fund (SWOF I), as well as spearheading SEAF fund raising for SEAF Women’s Economic Empowerment Fund II and SEAF’s global gender lens and healthcare fund programs. Ms. Buckley is on SEAF’s Global Investment Committee and is based in Singapore.
Much of her career was with GE Capital, where she operated both as an investment leader and board director, and where she applied GE’s extensive management best practices to developing opportunities and solving business challenges aimed at value creation. Ms. Buckley’s expertise spans strategic & operational planning, financial & risk management, leadership & organization design, salesforce effectiveness and M&A execution & integration.
Ms. Buckley spent 14 years leading GE’s EMEA private equity business from London before moving to Singapore as GE Capital’s Chief Investment Officer, Asia. At GE, she managed 36 investments across 17 countries over a diverse range of industries – healthcare, financial services, business services, communications & technology and oil & gas. She was a hands-on Board director in 13 investments working closely with the leadership teams in driving growth through new products/services and new market strategies, both organically and through acquisitions where possible. Ms. Buckley also worked with leadership teams and 3rd party consultants on operational improvements.
Ms. Buckley partnered her GE Equity investment operation with GE’s Industrial businesses to develop deal opportunities where technology and innovation had scope to drive greater industry efficiency. In Asia, she worked closely with GE Healthcare marketing its new product innovation, service delivery and healthcare IT to public-private partnerships, and to constituents seeking to improve the local healthcare systems in Southeast Asia.
Ms. Buckley received her MSc in International Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics. She also holds a LLM (Hons) and LLB (Hons) from the University of Canterbury.
